FIXED INCOME INVESTING: BETTER SPREAD USING ETFS – Panel Discussion

Moderated by:

Steven Hawkins, President and Co-CEO, Horizons ETFs Management (Canada) Inc.

Mark Webster, Vice President, Regional Sales, BMO ETFs, BMO Global Asset Management

,

Although the size of fixed income ETFs is small compared with that of equity ETFs, they are growing at a much faster rate. Exchange-traded funds are transforming debt markets as big investors are using them in ways considered unheard of just a few years ago – they’ve grown as liquid alternatives to cash and temporary holding pens for capital, and as trading tools. Fixed income ETFs offer a speedier and cheaper alternative to traditional bond investing. But such a dramatic transformation of the debt market brings challenges as well as opportunities, and regulators are taking notice.

Bitcoin ETFs?: Brace Yourself For A Tradeable Cryptocurrency

Moderated by:

Chris Burniske, Blockchain Products Lead, ARK Investment Management LLP

The SEC recently denied approval of the Winklevoss Bitcoin Trust ETF, an exchange-traded fund that would track the value of digital currency bitcoin. But there are two other proposals for Bitcoin ETFs in front of the SEC that will likely be decided upon later this year, and many say that they have a better change of getting the green light because of the difference in the way the ETF will be priced under these other structures. What is the future for Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies? And how would a Bitcoin ETF fit into an investor’s portfolio?

Inside ETFs Keynote Address: Timing is Everything

Matt Hougan, CEO, Inside ETFs

Dave Nadig, CEO, ETF.com

For the past 20 years, the ETF market has focused on fee wars and product supremacy. The cheapest and sexiest products got all the assets, and reporters breathlessly covered the race to zero on fees. But with expense ratios approaching zero, Hougan and Nadig declare the start of a new era: one where it matters less which ETFs you use and more how you use them. Learn why today, timing is everything.
